All Alexander Spear guns are made from Teakwood, which is the best kind of wood for the marine environment. It’s dense grain structure and natural oils prevent it from absorbing water and swelling or warping. Each gun blank goes through a multi step machining and aging process, which stabilizes the wood blank, and takes several months to complete. The Teak is carefully hand selected for grain structure and uniformity, assuring the finished gun will remain as straight as possible over time.

The blanks are machined on metal-working machinery to be square and uniform in thickness within two thousandths of an inch maximum variation and with a maximum deviation in straightness not exceeding five thousandths. On the laminated gun blanks, each laminant is machined flat and true before gluing. After glue curing, The blanks are machined straight and age-cured twice more before the track and other finishing detail is begun. About 50% of the cost of the finished spear gun is in this blank selection and preparation work.

All of the gun components are designed and manufactured to be the strongest and most durable parts available. The trigger mechanism and handle are confidently backed with a lifetime guarantee. All finished guns come with a detailed owner’s maintenance and operation guide, which covers loading, aiming, shooting and rigging options and a safety sheet.
